Transferring Schools: An Athlete Merch Update Checklist

September 12, 2026

Before promoting merchandise after a transfer, audit your public identity, old artwork and live destinations. A new bio does not automatically update a product or authorize a new school logo.

The transfer update register

Copy this register into your own worksheet
Item Action Done when
Public bio Update only confirmed, current details The public profile accurately describes your status.
Old school artwork List every design and the agreement it depends on The appropriate rights contact has answered the specific continued-use question.
Store and product pages Send the requested changes to the platform contact The actual public pages display the intended information.
QR codes and pinned posts Open each saved destination signed out Every reusable link reaches a current, understandable page.
Scheduled creative Check copy, uniforms, dates and captions Outdated scheduled posts have been revised or stopped.
New announcement Prepare after the destination is verified The announcement and landing page tell the same story.

Keep a dated copy of the change request and the answer for each artwork version. Ask the platform how it handles existing products and agreements; do not assume a public profile edit changes them. If a new collection is not ready, publish an accurate status update without a shopping deadline.

For a link inventory, begin with your bio, pinned posts, email signature and printed handouts. A public announcement can remain historically accurate while adding a clearly dated update linking to the current destination.

Ask both operational and policy questions

Which existing agreements continue? Who can authorize old artwork use? Which new marks, photos or facilities need review? Are there reporting steps connected with the move? Bring the actual agreement and design to the appropriate campus or professional contact. Current requirements can depend on your association, division and circumstances.

Before you finish

  • Compare announcement copy with the live product page.
  • Resolve old and new artwork permissions separately.
  • Test printed QR codes before reusing the handout.

For current NIL policy resources, start with the NCAA’s NIL guidance and the process for your own school and governing association. These worksheets do not determine individual eligibility or grant artwork permissions.
