Review the Advertisement as Well as the Contract
Use CIF Rule 212 as the starting point for the school-affiliation review. Bring the proposed design, photographs and caption to your school’s athletic director; a deal description may omit the uniform, school name or team references that appear in the actual promotion.
Example to review: compare an athlete-only personal design with a version containing a school logo and team name. Ask the school which eligibility restrictions apply before either version is sold. A trademark license and permission to participate under athletic rules are separate questions.
